Indian Community Group
The late Mira Mahtani, David Harilela, Notan Tolani and Larry Parmanand are the founders of Indian Community Group, which was formed to amalgamate 32 separate Indian groups & Associations in HK. Their aim is to raise funds for charity and to help the underprivileged in HK provide disaster relief as and when it occurs anywhere in the world.
HK$ 3.8 million has been donated to charities between 2004-2008.
Community Chest of Hong Kong – Dec 2004 4th Dec 2004 - Our first project was to collect funds for the Community Chest of Hong Kong, by organizing a fund raising ball for the Community Chest of HK by the Indian Community Group - Gateway to India’. This Ball raised over $2 Million dollars benefiting over 1,000,000 needy through the Community Chests 141 member agencies. Our chief guest that evening was the Hon. Donald Tsang.
