The George and Chandra Harilela Foundation
The George and Chandra Harilela Foundation was set up by David on March 8th, 2003 to honor his father and mother.
The charitable foundation was set up to perpetually honor and continues all the charities David’s parents supported and David has broadened and uses this foundation as a vehicle for all his major charitable contributions for his favorite causes. Although David’s desire was to build up this Foundation and fundraise for it, he has been too busy and involved with raising funds for far too many friends and causes he likes , so for the present the fund is solely funded by David himself.

The George and Chandra Harilela Foundation (GCHF), under Dr. David Harilela, is the Trustee of the Harilela Khubani Harjaini (H.K.H.) Public School in Ajmer, India. With a mission to provide every student with healthy and happy learning environment, the school was built in 2003 and has since grown from catering to 222 students to 1,700 today.
The City University of Hong Kong Since 2017, GCHF has been providing annual scholarships for students at City University. The scholarships are open to all ethnic minority and Chinese students regardless of their degrees or year of study. Dr. David personally assesses the candidates and submits his preferences to the university for their decision on the allocation of the scholarships. A short meeting session is held between Dr. David and the awardees allowing him to meet and get to know them in person and offer encouragement.

Sunbeam Children’s Foundation provides shelter, education, healthcare, social support and career guidance to orphans and disadvantaged children, from young infants to teenagers – many of whom have no family support of any kind. David joined their sponsor program which subsidizes 6 kids for 1 year education. He has been sponsoring them since 2010.

A community house that LTPP built for the children and their families. Love to Progress People (LTPP) is a Cambodian-based charity devoted to improving the lives of the poorest families and children in Siem Reap. LTPP provides education, food, and healthcare services and builds orphanages and houses to shelter the homeless. GCHF is committed to sponsoring the education of children annually, in addition to the salaries of the teachers at the school.

Through LTPP, we are able to sponsor monthly food bags (US$360 for one family per year) to 12 Cambodia families, each bag contains basic food and beverages like water, eggs, noodles, oils and vegetables.
